The Fulda rubber works, named after their German hometown, initially produced household items such as erasers, rubber mats and heels, as well as tires for non-motorized vehicles such as coaches and bicycles. Since its takeover by the Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Company in 1962, the company has become a manufacturer of tyres for the toughest demands. This is underlined by the support and direction of various extreme sports events. From 1996 to 1999, the brand sponsored the Yukon Quest, one of the toughest long-distance dog teams in the world. Since the year 2000, the Fulda Challenge has been hosting hundreds of extreme athletes every year for the Arctic Ten-Fights in Alaska.
